I have ADHD I’m in my 40’s from Chicago where it wasn’t ever much of an issue, I moved to the PNW. Having ADHD in Portland make me very unhappy, this is supposed to be the place where everyone fits in. In my case I’m labeled a tweeker right out of the gate by fellow employees as I try to settle in the workforce here. I have been treated horribly here, lost jobs, just over talking fast, finishing people’s sentences for them and the occasional misplaced things because I finish sentences in my brain and take off to work before assignment details have finished leaving the bosses mouth. My work ethic is amazing, I’m professional, my work speaks for itself. However the meth problem that PNW residents decided they would vote in when clearly they are too judgmental to allow that process to work has really put a damper on my life. I hate it out here for that reason, it’s so beautiful but the people are so incredibly selfish and assumptive. I had high hopes for the politics out here I thought the pnw was paving the way for human rights, but it’s not. It’s just a bunch ignorant snobs who think that everyone else is a junky if they don’t fit, ironic isn’t.
